“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

Lilac season continues and they haven’t even bloomed yet. This is the magic of paying attention.

Welcome and thank you for stopping by. I post early every morning: a quote that speaks to me, one of my photos, and a few words about . . . well . . . whatever is on my mind at that particular time.

  1. Gorgeous! Hope you have a lovely day.

    1. You too, Mildred.

  2. Every year for many many years, I have attempted to watch the Lilacs as they bud out. For many many years I have been unsuccessful in doing so…I always seems that poof! suddenly the lilacs are in bloom. This year however, through your lovely photographs, I am able to watch the process. Thank you!

    1. It’s the same with me, Ruth. This is the first year I’ve been intentional about watching them. I’m trying to do more of that. (P.S. I love hearing from you!)

  3. Dear Linda, your living in the present, cherishing the moment, inspires me. I hope to do the same as I recuperate.

Thank you for the Milne quotation. It took me back to my sophomore homeroom in high school. Sister Aquinas read the Winnie the Pooh books to us each day before school ended. I can so remember her Winnie voice . . . and Eeyore and Owl. What a wonderful memory. Peace.

    1. It can be a challenge to be present in the everyday moments but I find doing so reveals great treasures. Hoping you find many precious things in the quiet moments, Dee.

      1. Dear Linda, the precious things are there and slowly I do find them. Peace.

  4. I am catching up on your posts, and just have to comment on this one. I love Milne’s Pooh! and this is a quote that I’m not familiar with. Love the quote, the photos and the sentiment, Linda.

    1. Thank you for stopping by this morning, Karen. There are so many good Pooh quotes, aren’t there?
