“We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses.”

~ Alphonse Karr, A Tour Round My Garden

Sometimes I start writing something that takes me in a direction best explored in my private journal. Writing is like that. It’s awesome. This morning, I’m late here because I’ve been busy there.

So back to these roses; there’s much I could write about them.

I could tell you that they were a gift, in this dried and dead state, and that it’s a real friend who understands how much you would appreciate the gift of dead flowers.

I could bounce off from the quote, and wax philosophical about life and problems and opportunities, and blessings and perseverance and gratitude.

I could write about how a few hours spent with dead roses and my camera brings me to a place of peace, and then punctuate the post with a list of other simple happy blessings.

No, I think I’ll just leave it here for today, and maybe head back to my private journal to continue what I started over there.

Word wrangler. Photo taker. I'm here early every morning with one of my photos and a few simple words. | Nulla dies sine linea: not a day without a line. | Soli Deo gloria: to the glory of God alone.
