It’s mid-morning on a Monday. I’m just in from taking the dogs out in the backyard where it’s ridiculously cold for this time of year. The white frosty rooftops in the cul de sac first thing this morning looked more like those in December rather than April. I checked my weather app and am optimistic this might be the last week of overnight frost. Finally.
Anyway, as I said, it’s subjectively mid-morning—just after 10. In the long, long ago days, a group of us would be taking our mugs of tea down to the lunchroom to enjoy fifteen minutes of light-hearted conversation. In the long, long, LONG ago days, I’d be preparing to bathe a baby. These days, I’ve just taken a mug of chocolate chili chai tea from the microwave where I’ve reheated it for the nth time this morning because I’ve been absorbed in Story Circle Network tasks and keep forgetting about it.
A cool morning like this seems like a good opportunity to dive back into the book I’m currently reading where the action is picking up and I’m wondering how it’s going to play out. A book, a mug of tea, cozy socks, and a Yorkie on my lap. Seems more like autumn like spring, but it’s what we have for now.
