I came across this inspiring video this morning courtesy of Sassy Granny, Kathleen Flannigan. Thank you, Kathleen.
I hope you’ll take a moment to watch it. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
This young man, Emmanuel Kelly, once “a man without an identity” as he refers to himself, doesn’t know the date of his birth, the name he was given at birth (if he was given one at all), or who his birth parents were. He has little chance of ever finding these answers. He and his brother were found by nuns in Iraq, two babes abandoned in a shoebox in a park.
He has been given a gift from God – he has a beautiful singing voice.
He has also been given another gift from God – the gift of an adoptive mother and an extended family who love him. Emmanuel refers to his mom as an angel and his hero. I doubt his mom would think of herself as a hero; I imagine she just thinks of herself of as mom two these two incredible boys that God entrusted to her care.
It’s that way with all adoptive moms. Some may call them heroes, but regardless of the circumstances that brought their children into their lives, the care and love they lavish upon them entitle them to that most-precious title. Mom.
Today I tip my hat to Emmanuel, his brother, and his mom.
And to all adoptive moms out there: thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Writing this through tear-filled eyes. What an incredible story. Thank you for lighting my day with it.
Thank you, Linda, for introducing me to the beautiful voice and spirit of Emmanuel.
And to that smile on his mother’s and his brother’s faces.
Peace.
How wonderful and inspiring! May the Lord bless these nuns, the Mom who adopted the boys, and every adopted child who yearns for identity.
So glad you’re back, Linda!

Linda that was amazing. A “mother’s” love can change the world. Thanks for sharing that, I didn’t see it. Blessings
