Blog Roll

I read something recently about how the early days of blogging were more personal and community-driven than they are these days and it resonated with me. Another blogging friend I connected with early in my blogging days (you’ll find a link to her blog below) likened blogging like having pen pals. I like that too.

I’m growing increasingly weary of social media. Blogs are kinder, quieter, gentler spaces where connections can be made without all the ruckus. I’ve been here since 2007 and I’m not leaving anytime soon. In fact, I’m giving renewed attention to this online home of mine. 

Remember good old-fashioned blog rolls? We got to know one another through them and created communities. I’m resurrecting mine. Looking through the list of blogs I’ve followed over the years is tinged with melancholy as many are no longer actively blogging. It seemed there was a mass migration from blogging to social media. Still, many remain, and new ones have been added. I invite you to check out the growing list of blogs below. Who knows? We might just craft a community again!
