It’s the middle of January already and ever so slowly, I’m getting a handle on commitments, appointments, writing, and other goals. Balls have dropped but, thankfully, they’ve bounced. I’m not as organized as I like to be, but I’m organized enough for now. My calendar is filling up and I’m conscious of my intention to leave more free days than committed days. I’m getting a handle on my email inbox that’s been out of control for a month or so. I’m getting there.
I wanted a large writing project and now I have one. I’m in that stage of being obsessed with working on it but knowing that’s not the best thing for myself or those I share a home with. I’m thinking ahead to maybe planning a personal writing retreat. I was going to take on in 2020 but … well … you know.
Anyway, just now I’m home alone and, while I could use this time to continue organizing and planning, I think I’m going to shut it all down for a while and read a book or work on the jigsaw puzzle. All of this will still be waiting when I return.
Before I go, I’ll do a short Friday’s Fave Five list.
Coffee and conversation. It’s always a pleasure to take the time to get together with friends. Being able to sit in a favourite coffee shop makes it a double blessing.
Daughter’s night to cook—and leftovers. Laurinda made a delicious pot of chili for dinner last night and there’s enough for leftovers tonight. Score!
Going out shopping with Gerry. It’s a small thing, but we went out by ourselves this week to run some errands and $pend $ome money at Co$tco. It was time well spent.
Chocolate. It’s healthy, right? Chocolate, I just can’t quit you.
Writing. The 20 Minute a Day Challenge has kept me writing this week when I was tired and didn’t want to face the keyboard a minute longer. It’s been a good discipline. A couple more weeks to go!
Okay, that’s enough for now. I’m off to do not very much for a while.
