Fourth of July – Hoye Style

The flags are up on our freshly painted house. One for Canada Day which we celebrated on July 1 in Calgary and one for Independence Day which we are celebrating today at home.

It is a beautiful hot and sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest – just the way we like them! We’re just relaxing around home today after our very long journey home yesterday.

I snapped a few pictures around the yard as I was walking around today.

My new water fountain.

Gazing Ball

Lettuce and carrots in the garden. Fresh lettuce salad for dinner tonight!

Tomato Plants and Marigolds

The warm weather has resulted in blossoms on the tomato plants! Hurray!

The flags are flying at our house.

I'm off to read now...

What are you doing this beautiful July day?

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I just watched a movie, and now I’m getting ready to pick up my novel and read for a spell. And yes, it is an absolutely beautiful day here in the PNW!

  2. great photos..Happy 4th…

  3. What beautiful photographs. They brightened my morning, which happens to be gray today. Rain fell during the night. But rain is good after a long drought. Sounds like you enjoyed the Fourth! Glad you did.

    1. Thank you, Ann! We enjoyed the longest stretch of sunshine so far this year. Alas, we’re back to the rain today too. Hope you enjoyed your Fourth too!
