“The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.”

~ Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

No longer legally impaired and computer issue resolved, life looks pretty fine from where I sit this dark, late-October morning. There are some nagging things in the background, but there will always be nagging things in the background. For today they’re just that: background.

I find that I have nothing much to say today so I’ll just continue the simple happy list. Okay?

Canning jars filled with good things that make meal prep quick and easy.

Deer munching on my front flower garden, making a mess and prompting me to get the cleanup work done on a warm and sunny afternoon.

Shadows on the duvet in the morning as it begins to get light.

Fresh air (I was reminded of this blessing in conversation with a trades person yesterday who spoke about our smoky summer.)

Afternoon camera play.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm here early most mornings with one of my photos and a few words about life and those thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Yes, life is good!

  2. I like that you encourage us to look on the positive….and I love your list of things you love….We have a few similar ones…..The photograph is beautiful…love the pottery piece….

    1. Thank you, Nanci. I find that the more we are intentional about looking for those little simple happy things, the more there are of them! Have a wonderful day.
