Not the intense moment
Isolated, with no before and after,
But a lifetime burning in every moment.

T. S. Eliot

We are traveling to spend time with family today, and I am anticipating we’ll see some beautiful fall colour on the way. I considered taking my camera, realized we won’t have time to stop for camera play, and was momentarily disappointed.

Then I realized not everything has to be documented with a camera: either phone or big girl one. There’s wisdom in simply experiencing the simple happy moments of our days and capturing them for posterity in our memory.

It’s been a long while since I added to the simple happy list. It’s time I did.

Sleeping with the door open.

Fall mums in bloom.

Colour everywhere.

Sweet Sungold tomatoes still on the vine.

My library.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I love fall mums! I love the colors, so rich and earthy.

    1. Yes, like autumn jewels. Two that I bought this year have three different coloured flowers in the same pot. So pretty!
