Gerry and I arrived home yesterday afternoon after a wonderful visit in Calgary with the grands (and their parents, of course!).
We were blessed to meet our newest granddaughter, Peyton Mae Sydney Hoye! There is nothing so precious as snuggling a newborn baby and praying over her.
We also celebrated our grandson’s fourth birthday. It was a pirate-themed day all the way–check out the birthday cake treasure chest made by our daughter-in-love!
Jaxon loved it!
So did Makiya!
Gerry and I took the grands (minus Peyton!) to the zoo. We had a blast!
Makiya: Agh!!! He’s eating me!!
Makiya: And he pooped on me!
Jaxon: He pooped on me too!
(Gerry and I were absolutely exhausted in the best possible way after the zoo afternoon. We all slept well that night!)
Today, I’ve been out in the garden today taking stock of how everything is doing. You can check out the updates over on my gardening blog, A Grandma’s Garden.
And on the writing front, I’m a guest on Wrote By Rote today talking about time travelling and memoir. I hope you’ll stop by and say “hey”!

What precious love is a grandmother’s for her grandchildren!
What innocent love is a grandchild’s for her grandmother!
Linda, what precious time with grands, especially newborns! Wonderful photos you’ve shared with us.
