“Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.”

~ Samuel Smiles

Winter has returned with another blast of cold, wind, and snow. I was going to winter sow some lettuce today but put that plan on hold. I need to make a trip into town but will postpone that too.

Tomorrow there are some must-do things I have to go out for but today it’s nice to have the freedom to choose whether to venture out or hunker down.

Today seems like a good day for writing, picture-taking, seed catalog browsing, and garden dreaming.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Our weather warmed up over the weekend, and I spent a bit of time outside, looking longingly at the garden beds and picturing what they’ll look like in a few short months!

    1. Garden season will be here before we know it. That’s what I’m telling myself, anyway.
