Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.

Bill Watterson, The Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book

Big rain. Cool temperatures. An afternoon spent under a quilt with a book.

It doesn’t feel much like summer right now.

The garden is happy, drinking deep, and I am checking my weather app.

Heading back into my manuscript today, and to tend to some forced website maintenance.

Simple happy.

A handful of fresh, sweet summer berries.

Blueberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream.

Homemade, creamy macaroni and cheese. Rainy day comfort food.

Waking to sound of rain falling when I’m snug under my duvet.

The maple leaf flag flying. True north, strong, and free.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
