Monday, March 4, 2019 – Meanwhile, Hygge.

It’s cold this morning, but the sky is clear and it promises to be a sunny day. It looks like the temperature is finally going to start getting above freezing later this week—let the melt begin.

It’s time to start thinking about gardening, but I’m not quite there yet. Flannel, blankets, reading socks, and the hum of the heater in my woman cave are conspiring to keep me stuck in winter-mind. That will change quickly once the streams of snow-melt start flowing.

Meanwhile, hygge.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I love this word and the feeling of it! There has been conversation around me about warmer temps but I am honestly not ready yet. I have a few more snowy days in me.
My husband and I were going to start planning our garden but we are lucky to have two local farms less than a mile from our house with stands. We decided we are going to frequent these businesses this year instead. Our new lawn is in shade 100% of the time too so that was another deciding factor. Fresh veggies are necessary though!

  2. I looked at this week’s forecast – Yippee Skippy! It’s going up to 20 end of the week. I wish I could have a garden – I may get a few spice plants and try my hand at those. Or maybe a little tomato plant.

  3. Yay hygge! Wherever would we be without it?
