“You can kiss your family and friends good-bye and put miles between you, but at the same time you carry them with you in your heart, your mind, your stomach, because you do not just live in a world but a world lives in you.”

~ Frederick Buechner

We say farewell to our son this early morning; it’s been a treat having him here this weekend. One-on-one time with our adult children is always extra special.

He left loaded with garden produce and canned goods, both for his household and for our daughter’s. It’s handy that they both live in the same city.

So today life gets back to its regular routine. We’ll start with some Labour Day house work then, this afternoon if the smoke clears, head to the patio with a book.

Life is good.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. What great portraits Linda. I love the visits as well. It’s always great to have these moments of closeness with them.

  2. I love time w my kids too!
