The weather yesterday was glorious, and today promises to be even warmer. There’s no frost in the long-range forecast and I believe we’ve finally crossed over into full on spring. Hurray!
Taking advantage of the beautiful sunny afternoon (after Gerry hiked in the morning and I painted), we tended to some things around the yard and garden. Gerry pulled out the big pots of geraniums and dracena that had over wintered in the garage and set them into place. I planted beets, Swiss chard, and more spinach, radishes, and lettuce in the community garden. He washed the cars and I put out garden ornaments. I hand-watered both gardens (one of my favourite things this time of year) and, while doing so, planned where I was going to put other plants and imagined the garden in a few weeks with green where there now just soil.
It was altogether an absolutely splendid day.
Today, as I mentioned, looks just as promising. We’ll attend church this morning, putter this afternoon, and enjoy dinner out—just the two of us for the first time in what seems like forever—to celebrate our twenty-third wedding anniversary.

Spring and an anniversary to celebrate! Wonderful ways to spend a spring day. Happy anniversary!
