Photo Friday – Cedar Plank Salmon at 100 Mile House

Last weekend we enjoyed a visit with Michael and Robin in 100 Mile House (yes, that’s really the name of the town), BC.

Michael showed us the Zodiak he picked up for free. It needs a bit of work–a great winter project for him.

Chelsea supervised the activity.

Michael and Robin’s dog, Austin, was the co-supervisor.

We spend some time at their favorite place to hang out on a warm summer afternoon.

And, as usual, Michael fed us well.

Cedar plank salmon. Oh my it was delicious.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Linda, what a lovely time of respite and refreshing! And such lovely memories made. 🙂

  2. Dear Linda, I can see that you treasure your time with friends and family. Just as I do. The memories these times give us provide the warmth we need when days are cold and our heart chilled. Peace.

    1. What a perfect sentiment, Dee. Thank you.

  3. Love salmon and that cedar plank salmon sounds outstanding. I’ve passed through 100 Mile House many times in past years. Somewhere along the highway that goes to Prince George–and I think it was in 100 Mile House–there used to be some sort of abandoned business that was quite large and had a fairytale appearance. I used to fantasize that one day I was going to go there and buy that place and open up some kind of business. Dreams unfilled, but it was something to help occupy my mind along my journey and at times I still think of that place–wherever it was.

    1. I’m trying to picture such a place having traveled that way many times too. I’ll be on the lookout during my next trip!
