Preparing the Worm Hotel

Tonight I prepared the Worm Hotel.

The new residents will be arriving tomorrow or Friday and things need to be ready for them.

How to prepare the Worm Hotel?

Start with some coir, pumice, and shredded newspaper.

Soak the coir in water, break it up, and squeeze out the excess moisture.

Add a titch of partially composted leaves, 1 cup of pumice, and the shredded newspaper.

Spread it out in the Worm Hotel.

Add the finely chopped veggie scraps you’ve been saving.

Cover with damp newspaper.

Et voila!

The Worm Hotel is ready for business.

By the way, the Worm Hotel will be moving to the garage tomorrow.

Worms in the house?

Eww!

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Oh that is really great!! It looks quite nice doesn’t it?! Too funny, I just felt your “et voila” coming, and again, questioned whether you were REALLY going to keep it inside!!

  2. You know me well, Laurinda!
