Rainy Day

Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It’s a gray morning and the forecast is for patches of rain. Kamloops rain, which usually doesn’t amount to much. Gerry is going fishing with his cronies today so I hope that’s the case. If all goes according to plan we’ll enjoy rainbow trout for dinner.

I’ve recently discovered watercolour painting as a wonderful stress reliever. I may spend a good portion of the day in my woman cave with soft music playing in the background as I mix colours and paint flowers. I’m not very good at it but that’s hardly the point.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Mmmm…..trout…..Also yay for painting (and drawing)!

  2. Here’s to watercoloring and rainbow trout! =)

  3. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow describes our past week. Each day some rain has fallen. At any rate, you have the promise of rainbow trout tonight (maybe). And if this is one of your watercolors, I’d say you do very well with brush and paints.
