I’m heading out this morning for an overnight trip to see my girls and take in some Shakespeare. It’s opening night for The Tempest, the play Makiya’s been working on at theatre camp.
I enjoy solitary road trips. I load up on podcasts and find a perfect balance between listening to them and basking in silence. Inspiration finds me and I hear Divine whispers.
It’s just a short trip (five or six hours each way), but I’m hoping for big things from it. Aside for a short visit with my girls and seeing the play, I’m seeking a much-needed reset and mental health boost.
And relief from the smoke. Yesterday, it was raining in Prince George. Sounds like pure bliss compared to here where we can’t spend much time outside and ash falls from the sky.

The fires seem to get worse every year! May you get relief from the smokey air and be filled with joy with your girls!
Praying for safe travel and relief from the smoke. May your reset be just what you need. Sending prayers for the players, especially Mikaya.
