“Nobody sees a flower – really – it is so small it takes time – we haven’t time – and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time.”

~ Georgia O’Keeffe

After the wind of the past couple of days, it’s eerily calm and quiet this morning. I just watched a hummingbird at the feeder with the rising red-tinged sun in the background. No camera could capture the magic of that moment.

I settle in to the moment and consider the day unfolding. Yesterday, I listed four simple things I wanted to accomplish and crossed off three. I think I’ll make another, shorter, list today.

Meanwhile, I sip coffee and bask in the stillness.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I saw a lot of O’Keeffe while in NM. And I love her interpretations. Thank you for the quote.
