“This world is not conclusion
A sequel stands beyond.”~ Emily Dickinson.
Thanks to Plain and Fancy Girl, Marian Beaman, (http://marianbeaman.com) for this quote today–it’s perfect. My longing for that sequel grows stronger day by day, and the passing of a dear one only magnifies it.
I think often of author Shirley Showalter’s (http://www.shirleyshowalter.com/) personal mission statement: “to prepare for the hour of my death by living one good day at a time. And to help others do the same.”
First, prepare. Second, consider legacy.
Oh how I wish I had prepared sooner, that the treasure and truth I know deeper and deeper as I grow older, would have been my foundation in my youth. That it wasn’t grieves me, but it also equips me to understand the path of others who walk a similar path as the one I once blindly followed and maybe, just maybe, shed some Light on their path.
May I never forget from whence I came because, while it pains me, it magnifies both the joy I have for today and the longing I have for the sequel that lies ahead. There’s so much more than the temporary trials and pursuit of pleasure that this world holds. So. Much. More.
Lord, help me to remember and equip me to make the most of these remaining days as I long for the sequel.

Your last sentence expresses my prayer too. Thank you, Linda.
