Only through love will we find our way to create a world worthy of our children and our grandchildren.

Laurence Overmire, The One Idea That Saves The World

We are in Calgary. So much traffic, everyone has somewhere to go. Places to be, people to see, things to do, and all of it hurried.

I take a moment in the quiet of this morning to give thanks to the Creator for bringing us safely through, and for keeping us safe in the days ahead. Much gratitude for the little ones here, who are growing so quickly. There are shades of melancholy for time that passes quickly; but also wonder in the present, and anticipation for what will come.

Today, we join the hurried pace, grateful for the gift of opportunity to do so.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I lived in Calgary during the late 1950s, and visited a few times since. Such a bustling city! I’m quite sure I wouldn’t know my way around it today! Be safe.

    1. Calgary is one of my favourite cities. It’s busy, yes, but also wonderful.
