“The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind.”

~ Albert Einstein

My life is far from monotonous but, by choice, has a good measure of quiet solitude in which I can focus on creative pursuits and other home-centric activities.

As I look out the window this morning I see blue sky and I wish I had soaked the peas last night so I could plant today. I chose to wait until Sunday based on the weather forecast and now it looks like today would have been the better day. Ah well. I’ll dig the little garden in our back yard and plant a row of spinach instead.

I need to can beans so I’ll bring my laptop upstairs and work while the beans are processing. Sometime today I’ll pick up my camera and play for a while too.

It’s been a week of good conversations, good news, and good progress made on a few projects.

Next week, I’m going to work on our taxes so there’s a good chance I’ll be testy. Best to soak in all the goodness this week while I can.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Doing taxes is nothing to look forward to…though I had good news on mine this year. 🙂

  2. Beans, laptop, and camera. You have a winning combo, Linda.
