“Reading is that fruitful miracle of a communication in the midst of solitude.”

~ Marcel Proust

These kind of days are my favourites–sunshine, warm temperature, and a good measure of silence and solitude. I’ve resolved to take more down time this year so there’s a good chance I’ll spend some time on the deck with a book this afternoon.

It’s the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada, the unofficial kickoff to summer. It means little to me other than a reminder to avoid places that are likely to be crowded–which is pretty much everywhere–so my deck and my yard seem like good places to be.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things.

  1. I’m enjoying a little solitude myself today…potting new plants (indoor), cleaning, laundry, and now to some reading, online and off…

    1. Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Saturday, Karen. Hope you had a wonderful day.
