September was a thirty-days long goodbye to summer, to the season that left everybody both happy and weary of the warm, humid weather and the exhausting but thrilling adventures.
Lea Malot
Welcome, September. I am ready for you this year.
Ready, in the sense that I am weary and ready to embrace a different pace. Ready, in the sense that I am full-to-bursting with summer’s blessings.
Ready, too, because there’s no sense in coming to a new season kicking and screaming and trying to hold on to something I have no chance of keeping in my grasp.
The wiser course is to come with contentment for this day, allowing gratitude for the passing season to buoy my spirits when they wane (and they will, they always do) and expectation for what’s to come to gently guide me forward.
And so, welcome September, I’m glad we have the opportunity to meet again this year. I come a bit wiser, a lot wearier, and I expect you’ll reveal new things in your own gentle time. All things, unfolding as they should.

Beautiful, winsome thoughts, Linda. I’m more than ready to say ‘goodbye to summer’. I’ve enjoyed it, but I’m tired—time to let God’s watering system water the garden! Time to let cooler temperatures soothe us, and allow ourselves some reflection time!
Thank you for quoting me, lovely Linda!
Thank you, for the lovely words.
