“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.”

Canning meatballs today. We don’t eat a lot of meat but it is nice to have a few jars on the shelf for a quick winter supper. I can open three canning jars and throw together a quick meal: meatballs, potatoes, and coleslaw. Here’s a link to the recipe.

Other than that, reading, taking photos and editing them, and trip to the garden to gather a few things for supper. A quiet day.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things.

  1. Sounds just about perfect!

  2. I love a quiet day. I’m going to have one today, alone. Though I’ll be busy…loads of homework and study, and I’m finally bringing my collection to fruition so more work on that. I may go for a walk, too…the temps have taken a slight turn and high is expected in the 70s today.
