Stories From The Heart

I’m in Austin, TX this weekend attending the Stories From The Heart conference put on by Story Circle Network.

My heart and mind are filled to overflowing with the pure joy of being with old and new friends who share my passion for story. I’ve been enjoying spending time with my amazing SCN sisters, learning, and receiving inspiration from them all. There was even a little piece of magic in the first session this morning.

I’m turning in for the night now in, I might add, the most comfortable bed in the world where I slept better last night than I have in ages. Perhaps it was more than the bed though. Perhaps it was the peace one feels after spending a day with women who are willing to tell the stories of their life and bear witness to other women doing the same thing.

We open our hearts, we put down our masks, we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and we
listen to one another.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
