“In omnibus requiem quaesivi, et nusquam inveni nisi in angulo cum libro.
(Everywhere I have sought peace and not found it, except in a corner with a book.)”
~ Thomas à Kempis

Gerry is home, his plan to leave in the wee hours of this morning for the annual salmon fishing trip on hold as the wildfires burn and roads are closed.
I haven’t been in the garden for two days, a record, as I continue rest at home dealing with a medical issue. Today perhaps . . . in the rain maybe.

- Fresh and clear morning air.
- 18 quarts of dill pickles on the counter.
- A good book. (Three Sisters, Three Queens by Phillippa Gregory)
- A day of rest.
