“A shadow is hard to seize by the throat and dash to the ground.”

~ Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

News of the passing of someone I knew many years ago, a lifetime ago, this morning. It seems like there have been so many lately and I suppose that is true. The longer I live the more loss I will see.

I am prone to go Pollyanna-ish and write about how I must make the most of every moment and cherish my relationships. All true, but the fact is that I am human; I will fail in these things and I will have regrets.

So, I do the best I can; and you do the best you can. We will both stumble. I’ll do my best to extend grace when you hurt me and hope you’ll do the same for me.

Let’s keep a firm grasp on hope, faith, and love; ever mindful that we are creating a legacy.

Deal?

I’m doing a little drawing over on my photography Facebook page. This month’s winner will be drawn on Tuesday. I’d love to have you join in.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. You find the best quotes, Linda. They fit your photos to perfection . . . just had to say that!

  2. By the way, photo #6 has my vote.

    1. Thank you, Marian!

  3. I vote for the lower right corner photograph with the open book.
