“Everything’s going along as usual and then all shit breaks loose.”

~ Joan Didion

(Please pardon the language in today’s quote. It’s just so fitting for what happened yesterday that I couldn’t resist using it.)

Yesterday morning I was sitting in bed sipping coffee and working on my daily blog post. It was almost finished when something happened that changed the course of my day.

I concede that, relative to all that is going on in the world, it wasn’t the worst thing that could happen. In my world it was pretty high up on the scale.

Don’t worry, everyone is okay. I’m not going to write about it except to say that my husband played the role of Hero flawlessly.

After spending the day not the way we planned to, last evening, while Gerry watched football, I curled up and watched Genius on Netflix. Enjoyed it immensely.

Today, we begin again.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
