“Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom.”

~ Francis Bacon

This moment–when all is quiet but for the soft snoring of my Yorkie; when the cool summer morning air gently caresses my skin; when the dawn has not yet broken and the day stretches out in front, ripe with possibility; when I look outside at the majesty of creation and am moved to praise the Creator–this moment is the one in which I am most fully alive.

Today. Worship and teaching. Carving out moments for creativity. Pursuing silence and solitude.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
