“How often have I lain beneath rain on a strange roof, thinking of home.”
~ William Faulkner
We enjoyed a good time at our son’s house yesterday where the kids collaborated to cook a delicious dinner for us. We journey home today, bringing our granddaughter with us.
Part of the road we took to get here was closed last evening, and another community evacuated, due to the forest fires. For now it looks like the alternate route we’re planning to take looks good and isn’t too far off course.
It will be good to get home where shenanigans will ensue and we will enjoy a grand week.
Meanwhile, I’m in desperate need of a good cup of coffee. Thankfully, there’s a Starbucks downstairs and Maya will soon want to go outside. I’m watching the clock and will nudge both dog and husband at the appropriate time.

“…a grand week.” I would love it.
