“Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.”

~ Henri Nouwen

The whisper of the automatic sprinklers as they come on.

The cool, fresh morning air.

Open windows and doors.

Sunshine on the messed-from-the-night duvet cover.

Maya snoring softly.

Frothy coffee.

Simple happy. Right here. Right now.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
  1. Blessings to you this Sunday. What a lovely view to wake up to. How I pray for this kind of peace all over the world.

    1. Oh yes, Mildred. My morning is in sharp contrast to what too many others are waking to this morning.

  2. This blog earned a Bean Pat as blog pick of the day. Check it out at:

    1. Pat, thank you so much for the Bean Pat!

  3. This is beautiful. “Simple happy.” You have a lovely view!

    1. We never tire of the show outside our windows, Karen!

  4. Simply beautiful Linda.

    1. Thank you, Celine.
