“The snow has not yet left the earth, but spring is already asking to enter your heart.”

~ Anton Chekhov, The Exclamation Mark

Honestly. Snow? It’s falling right now. Just a few flakes of dandruff, but still. Snow.

Truly, this sometimes feels like the never-ending winter.

Ah, but you will not have the final say Old Man Winter. Spring will come, and soon, no matter how tenuous your grasp seems now you are powerless to stop it.

Have a blessed Sunday. Hang on to hope. Spring is just around the corner.

“Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest.
The soul, uneasy, and confin’d from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.”

~ Alexander Pope, An Essay on Man

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I sometimes feel, in ND, that winter will. never. end. But then a few days of 40s, then 50s, and running water through the streets and into the drains…And I rejoice! It’s like that today. It’s 40-something, and I have all my windows open, fresh air – please come in! It might seem cold to others in different climes, but 40s is like spring to me.

  2. That’s a beautiful photo. Hard to believe there are snowflakes somewhere out of view. Very hopeful – thank-you!
