“How fragile we are, between the few good moments.”

There have been many good moments over the past week with assorted friends and family. Now, I’m in need of quiet time to recharge.

It’s good when those who consider ourselves more introvert than extrovert recognize that need and give ourselves permission to lean into solitude for a season. We gain so much during our retreat regardless of how it appears on the outside; we come out stronger at the other end.

I’m longing for some focused quiet time in my woman cave but today is not that day.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I know exactly what you mean. Having been with our family of 12 in the mountains for most of a week, I am so ready to have some recharging time myself. It was a good family time but now I need some quiet, creative time to myself. I hope you get to escape into your woman’s cave this week….

    1. Hope you find your quiet time too, Nancy.
