“Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don’t count on harvesting Golden Delicious.”
~ Bill Meyer

Something to think about, yes? I struggle, at times, with taking my thoughts captive. I can get wound up in a tail spin of why? what if? and when? questions that rob me of peace of mind for a season. I suspect most of us can. Recognizing that we’re planting crab apples is the first step to getting out of it. Keeping our eyes on those Golden Delicious apples–our eyes on the prize, so to speak–keeps us from staying stuck and helps us move forward.

Anyway, it’s a sunny (finally!) Sunday morning. Looking forward to spending time with our church family this morning and going on a little adventure with my hubby this afternoon.

Have a wonderful day!

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. I love the quote! That quote can be applied to many things…if you plant ________, don’t expect _________.

  2. Great quote. I love the comparison of thoughts to crab apples. Something to think about.
