The Gift of a Blustery Day

It’s a blustery morning.

I have things to do in the garden but likely won’t do them today. It’s more likely I’ll catch up on a handful of administrative items in the woman cave, then settle in with a book, the dogs, and another cup of coffee. Maybe I’ll put a few pieces in the jigsaw puzzle, or break out the watercolour paints. No complaints here.

Gerry is scheduled to go on a bike hike but I’m guessing it will be cancelled. I could be wrong. Those hikers are a hardy bunch!

We got a call last evening that the strawberries have arrived at the green grocer, so Gerry will head over and pick up a case. They’ll be strawberries and vanilla ice cream on the menu later, which presents a dilemma for Gerry who’s doing a “no desert June”. 🙂

So, it’s a home day,  not all that much different from any other day. Even though I don’t need one, I appreciate the excuse to curl up under a blanket with a book for a good chunk of it.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Enjoy your day! Not much better than fresh strawberries.
