Thursday, April 11, 2019 – Routine

Work every day. No matter what has happened the day or night before, get up and bite on the nail.

 Ernest Hemingway

The cool, wet days that have come with April are a blessing. I feel no tug to be outside digging in the dirt instead of writing in the silence and solitude of my woman cave. I’ve established a routine: write until noon, lose at chess while lunching with Gerry, then get out and do something in the afternoon.

Perfect for now.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Your routine describes me – without the chess. Walking is my game!
    Are those hyacinths up close?

    1. They’re lilacs, Marian. I shot them last spring. Eagerly awaiting this year’s bloom. 🙂
