“Rainy days should be spent at home with a cup of tea and a good book.”
~ Bill Watterson, The Calvin and Hobbes Tenth Anniversary Book
It’s a fresh and cool morning. A slight–well, maybe more than slight–breeze is blowing. I’m listening to a few drops of rain on the deck. Rain! How wonderful!
Funny how one’s perspective changes. It wasn’t very many months ago that I was lamenting the deluge of rainy days that seemed to go on and on. Now the rain is so welcome as it freshens the air and, I hope, falls long and hard over our fiery forests.

I received some exciting writing news yesterday. An essay I wrote about my journey with scoliosis has been chosen to be included in Story Circle Network’s new book, Inside and Out: Women’s Truths, Women’s Stories, to be published later this year.
I’m thrilled and honoured, and I look forward to getting my hands on that book and reading all of the stories. I love the stories of women’s lives and that’s why I’ve coordinated Story Circle Network’s One Woman’s Day blog (https://onewomansday.wordpress.com/) since its inception in 2011.

The garden continues to flourish and my freezer is filling nicely. I did a quick inventory the other day and decided I’ve reached capacity for frozen kale so I think I’m going to make kale chips today for something different. I made a small batch a few years ago and they were delicious.

Well that’s a bunch of randomness for today. Kind of a picture of life these days.

Congratulations dear Linda! That is exciting news! You are indeed a talented writer!
Congrats Linda, and I’m glad you’re getting rain. We need some here desperately.
Linda…I want you to know, that while I don’t always comment, I always read your posts. Every darn day. I’m in the middle of a kick-butt Psych Class (imagine 16 weeks of material being jammed into an 8 week summer class), and I just don’t have the time I want to respond fully, faithfully, or meaningfully to your posts.
North Dakota is dying from lack of rain. The farmers are in trouble. I would love to hear the pitter patter of rain drops. We have not had significant rain (measurable) since MAY.
Congratulations on your essay – it’s deserved, I’m sure.
This Psych Class will be done in about three weeks, and I’ll be more available to respond fully to your posts. Just know that I follow, I think, I love your posts.
Kudos to you for taking and focusing on this class, Karen. Though intensive, it must be fascinating. I applaud your dedication and intentionality.
We got a bit of rain last evening and the morning is so fresh as a result. Hoping some comes your way very soon.
Congratulations Linda ??
