It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.
Henry David Thoreau
I wake early, grateful, and think I will have an abundance of time to wrangle words. I head to my journal and work through some things then find myself on an online rabbit trail to nowhere.
I read the thoughts of a trusted teacher about a topic that’s dear to me; I dig into the musings of a couple of researcher-writers on something else; I somehow end up reading articles read about the life and death of a painter; and, after all of that, come here and find that I am empty.
All of the virtual wandering started because this photograph evoked something in me and I wanted a quote to go with it, thinking it would springboard into a post. Now, I have no quote and no words of my own so I’ll simply leave the photo and perhaps you’ll tell me what it brings to your mind.
UPDATE: I found a quote. It’s not exactly what I was going for, but it will suffice. 🙂
