As a mother of young children I learned that getting down to my child’s level and speaking softly was more effective than standing tall and shouting. A child will work at listening to a quiet voice.

Adults are like that too.

Social media and the news is wearing me down this week. I may have to take a break from it for a few days. Meanwhile, let’s continue to speak life, with grace, amidst the cacophony today.

Here: preparing for a weekend company and enjoying coffee, pleasant conversation, and a pumpkin spice frappuccino with my bestie.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things.

  1. I love the quote and so agree with you about social media. I have decided to just stay away for a few days and see if things settle down. Sounds like you are having a wonderful morning with your bestie….

    1. It’s terrible right now. I’m minimizing my time there until things calm down. You’re wise to just stay away.
