“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, “Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

~ Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

It’s almost 4:30 a.m. and I just peeked outside. White. And so it begins.

If the weather forecasters are correct, and it appears they are, we’re in for the first cold snap of the season. Break out the quilts, books, reading socks, and hot tea. And snow shovels.

I’d love to hunker down at home all day but we are headed down the hill early to Gerry’s appointment at the vascular improvement program, followed by a bit of shopping. Maybe we’ll hygge this afternoon.

In other news, I’ve been working on a project to download all of the posts since I started blogging in 2008, and compile them into a format I could keep for my personal records. I decided to create a book for every year and the first, for 2008, arrived this week. I’m very happy with how it turned out—nothing fancy but it serves my purpose—so I’m moving forward with creating books for 2009 through 2016. Fun stuff!

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Where’s the LOVE icon to click on? What a great idea.

    1. Thanks, my friend! I’m having fun putting them together.

  2. Wow Linda – you should publish the books! Great reading!

    1. Thanks for your kind words, Ruth. I’m afraid the early posts especially, would have a very limited readership though!

  3. Um…wasn’t I one of the people who encouraged you to make a book of your posts? I’d buy it. Your posts, every day, make me feel better, more grateful, simple happy. 🙂

    1. Yes, you were, Karen, and I am very thankful for your support and encouragement over the years. It’s been interesting to look back and see how this blog has morphed and changed over the years. It’s much different today than it was back in 2008! Still pondering the possibility of a book. We’ll see. 🙂
