“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them”

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the US. We can all, no matter where we live, pause and consider the many things we have to be thankful for today.

I’m especially thankful for my mother-in-love whose 96th birthday we celebrate today. She is a strong, no-nonsense, generous woman who worked outside the home when women didn’t do such a thing, traveled the world with her husband, and raised a very fine brood of children. This afternoon we will gather with family and celebrate the milestone with her.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
