“When I am constantly running there is no time for being. When there is no time for being there is no time for listening.”
~ Madeleine L’Engle, Walking on Water
Gerry returned from a spectacular hiking trip yesterday and left this morning for his annual fishing trip. I’m looking forward to some quiet and productive days peppered with lots of time for being and listening.
Canning and gardening in the morning; reading and photography in the afternoon. Sounds pretty much perfect to me.
What’s on your schedule today? Hope you find some time to just be.

(Don’t forget every comment on the blog in August enters your name into the drawing for either a copy of the beautiful Bella Grace magazine or my book Two Hearts: An Adoptee’s Journey Through Grief to Gratitude.)

I am looking forward to a quiet, restful day too. My puppy is getting spayed, so she will be at the vet’s all day…which means no training lessons today…a bit of a carefree day. After I get my chores done, I’m going to brew a pot of tea and read a book.
Enjoy your day,
Patti
Hope your puppy does well. A pot of tea and a good book sounds wonderful!
Such a nice quote from Madeleine L’Engle. Enjoy your little retreat, Linda. It’s so nice to have the house to oneself occasionally. I just finished up some writing and now I’m going to take my dog for a walk before heading off to work. It’s a few degrees cooler outside today. Yay!
Have a wonderful day, Karen. Glad you’re having a cooler day today–wish you could send some of that hot weather my way though. 🙂
I’m going to plant some colorful flowers in pots to put on my front porch! To welcome my stepson who will arrive from Florida tomorrow, for his annual visit. A doctor’s appointment for my husband looms also today. I’m hoping & praying we find a doctor who will diagnose why he’s having trouble breathing! The last two specialists could not. After that I plan to do some writing and take a Zen walk, and just relax and “be.”
How wonderful to be anticipating a visit from your stepson! I’m taking a moment right now to pray for you husband and wisdom for his doctors. Enjoy your day, Kas.
Sounds like a great way to spend the day Linda. I have a bit of work that needs to get done before I sit under the covered deck and listen to the rain with a book in hand.
I like that you are providing other blogs to look at throughout this series – you are sharing some good ones!
Glad you’re enjoying them, Karen!
