“And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.”~ Max Ehrmann, Desiderata: A Poem for a Way of Life
Something I had forgotten: I can choose what I allow into the sanctuary of my home. Something else: it really is a beautiful and wonder-filled world.
If it was spring I would go outside and dig in the dirt but we’re still a few weeks away from that. If we still lived in Washington, I’d head to one of the botanical gardens or nurseries and bask in the peace of plant life.
Pondering alternatives this morning.

Thank goodness for the freedom to choose what comes into our homes as well as our minds. I’ll be glad to get my hands in the dirt too…Maybe before too long….
In North Dakota, USA, we are probably about three months away from even thinking about spring. Groan. I look forward to the day when I have traction when I drive and can walk about without scrunching my toes in my boots (something I do when it’s slippery).
