“I believe in kindness. Also in mischief. Also in singing, especially when singing is not necessarily prescribed.”
~ Mary Oliver
I can hardly write without making reference to the madness there is in the world today and that distresses me greatly.
We must not let the voices of hate be louder than those of compassion. Let’s amp up our gestures of kindness, let’s spread nuggets of joy, let’s make sure the sound of grace is louder than that of hate.
We can disagree respectfully. We can seek to understand. We can make our voices heard without fueling animosity. We can extend the same hands of grace and compassion we profess to believe in to all human beings regardless of their politics or faith.
We can, if we choose to.

Yours is such a soothing voice, Linda, during this time of chaos. Thank you!

I have considered stepping away for a season too, Cherry. I decided that instead I would let my voice, quiet though it may be, put a measure of positivity out there.
What a lovely quotation and photo. Tranquil. I like the idea of mischief – there’s a lightness to it which is welcome these days :).
