“Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another “What! You too? I thought that no one but myself . . .”
~ C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

Surprises yesterday: a pretty card in the mail and a gift of a journal from a friend. Simple things that brightened my day.

In the Be Still | One Year Wiser class we’re challenged to capture unstaged images of our life. I like the idea though it scares me a little bit. Silly, yes? We’ll see how it goes.

This morning, I glanced over at the windowsill next to my desk and saw my ever-present glass of ice water next to the spray bottle I use to add water droplets to objects before photographing them sometimes. The writing on the water bottle made me smile: water only. It seemed like a moment so I snapped a photo. 20160927-img_1835-1

Today: surfacing slowly, clearing cobwebs, reflecting, projecting, wishing.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
