Wake Up Call

There is something so sweet about waking up naturally after a night of good sleep.
This morning I felt myself waking up, returning to consciousness, slowly. Gerry still slept beside me and his regular breathing was like the sound of peace. The dogs still slept beside me, their little bodies warm next to me. The window was open and fresh, cool morning air filled the bedroom. I opened my eyes and took in the peaceful sight of my room filled with sleeping bodies.
For a while I lay there daydreaming and imagining how wonderful it would be to wake up this way every morning.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.

  1. Waking up to the windows open and fresh air and sunlight. The best!

  2. Ahhh, hope you get many more such mornings.

  3. Yes! I’ve been there, and it’s so, so sweet. I’m grateful I get to wake up naturally most days. Even though I work, my body rises very early – about 4:30AM – every day; Sat/Sun included, just because it seems to be wired that way. I love it (and I know most people think I’m nuts).

    Be blessed,
    Kathleen

  4. Mmm … pure heaven!

  5. I have been way too swamped with teacher stuff to visit much around with my blog friends… but here I am again! I loved catching up on your posts. I hope your pain is getting better. I am going to try to look at my blessings when I have another bad day. You have such a positive attitude!
