“The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest.”
~ William Blake
I settle in on the deck with a cup of iced tea and the book I’m in the midst of–one I’m taking my time with, chewing on, and allowing to go deep.
A bluebird on the fence catches my attention, as does the grouse family strolling by on their afternoon walkabout. It’s warm–hot even–and best of all, the air is fresh and smoke-free.
There have been too few afternoons out here this summer; the smoke has forced us indoors. Now summer is waning and days like this are sweeter than ever when we are blessed with them.
Later I enjoy slices of Black Krim tomato on freshly baked bread, with a bit of butter and salt and pepper, and the afternoon is pretty near perfect.

Oh shucks I really promised myself not to get involved with yet another blog . Oh well here goes …love this photo and words are near prefect too Linda Hoye ??

Thank you for stopping by, Cherry. Your comment made my day.
Blissfully peaceful!
Fresh, home-grown tomato, on fresh home-made bread. You’re killin’ me! 🙂 I need to visit you in late summer so I can have some of your home-grown goodies!
Wouldn’t that be fun?!
