If it can be verified, we don’t need faith. Faith is for that which lies on the other side of reason. Faith is what makes life bearable, with all its tragedies and ambiguities and sudden, startling joys.

 Madeleine L’Engle

It’s gonna be chaos around here today. The best kind of chaos: grand chaos. Meanwhile, I take a few early morning moments for reflection.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the solar system in recent weeks; not the solar system in which our planet orbits, but the one on which I try to live my life. The image of a solar system is a good reminder to me that everything does not (and should not) revolve around me.

Lord, as we head into a series fun and grand days, keep me ever mindful of Jesus at the center of it all. Amen and amen.

I’m a writer, reader, and creative. I thought by now I’d have things figured out, but I keep coming up with more questions. I think that’s okay. I’m here most mornings pondering ordinary things and the thin places where faith intersects.
